Harvard is in the hot seat. Apparently they’re giving out too many As.

This is precisely what some of us here have been arguing—the ivies and other private schools are coddling their students too much. I blame US News for this. They put way too much emphasis on four-year graduation rate.

I don’t see anything about coddling.

Why are people surprised that a school with a 3% acceptance rate with the expectation that a significant chunk of their students have national or international recognition in something along with being academic superstars are doing well in school? Admissions 3 decades ago was a joke compared to now, and I’d argue the high failure rates were because the students truly were incompetent and faced less pressure.
