| Anyone's kids ED1 to Chicago? Just wondering how popular it will be as a lot already applied through ED0. |
| You missed the boat on ED 0... |
How many spots of the class were filled through ED0? Do you know? |
UChicago won't even divulge the number of ED1 or ED2 admissions; ED0 is also a state secret. |
|
My child did (though honestly I'd be shocked if they got in, even though they're well qualified, because most applicants are well qualified).
But given that the class of 2028 got a total of 43,612 applications, a big chunk of which were ED, any information you get here - whether it's 2 applications or 20 or 200 - will be completely meaningless. |
|
I guess the U Chicago troll is working overtime today?
Here, let me save you the trouble: --80% of ED1 applicants are accepted --All ED applicants are third tier private school kids. --Chicago is on the verge of bankruptcy. |
You forgot to complain about the marketing. |
I thought what they were saying is that 80% of the class is admitted through various EDs? |
correct. PP is nutty. They do not published ED1 admit rate but based on extrapolation from data that has snuck out over the years and the CDS, ED1 is somewhere between 20 and 30% admit rate |
That was a joke...there's a Chicago hater on this board who claims that they accept all ED applicants, who are "third tier" students. |
They have said they enroll around 25% of the class in each early round. RD acceptance rate has been less than 1%. ED0 appears to be a kind of rolling admissions, with greater odds of acceptance for those applying earlier in the application period. |
| Chicago loves private school kids, it’s a harder admit coming from a public high school. With their financial situation, they need as many full-pay students as possible. |
| Given that the school is in a financial meltdown, I'd pass. |
| All evidence pointing to more competition for U Chicago at our private among top students. Insane! |
|
Our daily UChicago troll should spend a little more time learning math. Especially since s/he tries to use "math" to bolster arguments.
