Why does MacArthur get such a bad rating?

I think it's because its a fairly new high school. This year will be the first year that they have Seniors so nobody has graduated from Macarthur yet. I have heard some great things about the principal and teachers and some not so great things about the students (vaping in class) I do hope Macarthur turns out like Hardy. I think with parent support it will quickly become a great school - if not one of the best!

Agree with this. And the current senior class is not even a full class. The first full class will be in 2027. Before the mandatory feed it has attracted a lot of kids who are not necessarily the sort that it will attract going forward now that Hardy kids are on track to attend. We are a current Hardy family and are very excited for MacArthur. It’s on track to be a fantastic school!

We are a MacArthur family and that great schools testing is wrong. Yes kids vape, and yes there were some fights but my 9th grader loves it. Homecoming was a success and children had a great time. This school takes academics very seriously and when I advocated for my son to be bumped to Spanish 3, happened. He’s also in an AP class as a 9th grader.

That's great! It genuinely sounds like its on track to become a great school. You said your son was in 9th grade and taking an AP, do you think they will be prepared enough so that they will pass the AP test? I currently have 2 kids at Hardy so I am wondering what Macarthur is like.

what was homecoming like? Thinking of sending our daughter to Macarthur in 2 years and wondering if it's a welcoming and friendly school.

We are also a current Hardy family! Very excited for our kid to go there in a couple of years. My oldest son wants to switch there from his current high school but I'd rather wait for macarthur to get better before he transfers.
