35- 40 year olds - what's your NW?

Anonymous
For those that consider themselves wealthier millennials, what is your NW? I am always curious where people are as I do feel like we live in a small bubble

We are 37/35 and around 3.5M (2.8M outside home equity) not including DH's business which "should" be worth 5m+ but I wouldn't count on a liquidity event any time soon.

This isn’t helpful if you’re also not sharing HHI and if you inherited anything - eg your NW looks way too high for your ages unless you inherited $ or had an earlier liquidity event already

HHI 1.1M

We have been given some money from family maybe around ~200k in the last 5 yrs

Wanted to get to $10M by 40. Because round numbers ya know

But we made it to 7.3ish (including 529’s)

It’s mostly Real Estate so sometimes I like playing into the illusion that it’s a cash flow problem and we’re tight with the purse strings.

Couple clever RE deals earlier in my 20’s as we were coming out of the depression. Then generic amounts in IRAs and Roth accts

$2M. Dual feds. One child.

35/39. We’re at about $1.8M, not including around $55k in 529s for our 3 kids (oldest is in kindergarten). Around $400k of that is home equity. Our parents/families are poor, so we have received $0 in family help or inheritance, and in fact I give my family thousands every year in assistance. HHI is around $450k not including bonuses. I feel unimaginably lucky to be where we are with our net worth and finances.

Nice! What do you do? We’re a little younger in tech around $800K - hoping we can crack $1M combined over the next couple of years

Threads like this are comical... it's like a top 1% circle jerk, completely divorced from reality. Here is some far more useful information.

36/38 No family inheritance or help. NW 1.2 mil. Completely debt free except the balance on the house. HHI 468k.

Allow us this circle - the poster originally stated “for those wealthy millennials…” and “small bubble” so it’s assumed that this post would be both an ego exercise and divorced from your Reddit reality.

Hope you can find a circle of your own where you feel validated and worthy.

32/35 with one kid, NW $1.8M including home equity. If I had to guess, probably $350k of that has been inherited. We make about $300k.

Why does this trigger people? Where else can you anonymously ask these questions? It’s healthy to see where peers are at your age.
