new podcast on youth soccer (with a DMV focus)

I came across this podcast, which is pretty interesting: https://open.spotify.com/show/2zjoIzK4tJwpYddeiApGCi

It's called "soccer sidelines" and you can also find it on Apple/Amazon, I believe. http://bit.ly/3KRyiWl.

Interesting interviews with local coaches and others. Lots of good stuff about navigating the local soccer scene, picking a club/coach, etc.

How long until it gets sued and dismantled for talking about minors? Throwing names around and whatnot

I’ve listened to one podcast and didn’t hear names of minors that were not the host or the guest. Which episode was it where they did that?

What is the exact statute they are violating?

This is why fields are no longer open to play. Everybody wants to sue for everything.

Should I sue when a trainer put my kids video on IG? Or was it sufficient that I simply asked him not to post my kid on IG and he kindly complied?

Weird self promotion flex for a podcast with only three episodes over six months and low/no name clubs for interviewees. My problem with podcasts and podcasts guests is that people really think they want to listen to two college buddies talk for 45 minutes about... anything.

They don’t mention minors besides their kid. And it’s not illegal to say the name of a kid—that’s a crazy critique. It’s a good podcast—a well-informed host who knows a lot about DMV soccer and good guests so far. I hope there are more episodes. It’s a good listen!

The great thing about that problem is it’s a you-problem and you don’t actually have to listen to podcasts you have problems with.

Do they explain how the switch from BY to SY will work?

One of those clubs produced a few kids that replaced some of your kids at MLS Next I clubs. Club level does not equate to coaching. I have not listened to the podcast but most of you are not getting a good return on investment based on how much you spend and how good you they are. You might want to humble yourself and look at as many options as possible.

The audio quality, especially for the guests, needs a substantial improvement.

Can they do an episode on soccer forums? Not sure what the angle would be but these forums are incredibly toxic and unhinged and unhelpful, but at the same time also helpful if you can get past the toxicity.

My DS is absolutely thriving where he is now and I’m not embarrassed to admit that I got a ton of information from here. But also knowing way more than I do now, there’s also a ton of misinformation on these forums.

Lots of insecure parents for sure.
