Does your office (if East coast) allow late arrivals (2 hours) on the morning after big, late night events? Last nght's game went until 3 am and pretty much half the men at my office were drooling in their chairs all day. Would have made more sense to allow people an extra 2 hours of sleep.

Typically we have meeting that we’re already scheduled and can’t be cancelled at the last minute so no. That said I do know a few people who take the day after the Super Bowl off.

No. Offices do not have late arrival because adults are unable to manage their own sleep and entertainment habits.

I am impressed you watched it to the end!

Is this a job at the beach or an ice cream shop or are we taking adults here?

Right? That's insane. Staying up until 3am to watch other grown men play a game is a choice. This may blow your mind, OP, but not everyone cares about watching sports.

Mine does not.

Can I ask my office if I can come in at noon if I’m out drinking until 3 AM the night prior?

I cannot imagine any office would do this

People still watch that?

Your coworkers should have taken leave.

My office doesn't care what time people come in, so yes.

Mine does. Same with the Super Bowl. It's nice working for people that value work life balance. Sorry yours doesn't!

+1. Get your work done and make your appointments, but people figure out their own hours.

What about late arrival due to a late business flight?
I used to have late flight back from the west coast and I would squeeze out an extra hour or two of getting ready time for work the next day just because it was brutal. But I had a male coworker who made the trips (we did them separately) and he'd be back in office next morning right on time, freshly showered. I hated him. But nobody ever said anything to me so I guess I won?
