Over Bowser, McDuffie A Joke

Bowser’s actions at a recent Ward 5 event have made me lose hope that she’s willing to stand up or do anything about the federal agents/national guard in DC. McDuffie couldn’t get the prerequisites right to run for AG. Is there anyone who might run and win against her? Axios reported that Charles Allen might run for chair or mayor. Is that true?

I wish Henderson would run, but she hasn’t shown any interest in doing so.

It seems that no one wants to be mayor of DC these days.

What exactly do you want Bowser — or anyone— to do to “stand up”? I’ll assume that you’re aware of the direct power that the president and Congress has with regard to DC. Perhaps you have some realistic suggestions that could be implemented?

I’m not in the seat to offer solutions but in between doing NOTHING and at times completely complying, there must be something she can do to keep federal agents and members of the national guard out of our neighborhoods. I guess I haven’t been made to expect nothing from our elected leaders like you seem to be okay with now.

Bowser did get the stadium and pushed it through the council. Whether you believe that's good or bad, it is a major accomplishment for a D mayor and a R Congress. I have no idea what was said when she met Trump earlier in the year, but Trump mostly kept out of it which is unusual for him.

I’m not sure why you would think he would want to get in the way of the DC government giving away billions in public resources to very wealthy people, but OK.

I’m not sure that Bowser ever really cared about DC’s residents, but she’s long since given up all pretense. All she is about now is feathering the nest she would enjoy once she moves on in a little over a year’s time.

I’m not sure that Bowser ever really cared about DC’s residents, but she’s long since given up all pretense. All she is about now is feathering the nest she would enjoy once she moves on in a little over a year’s time.

Trump only cares about certain wealthy people, and none of those appear to be involved. As for caring about DC, the deal looks good on paper. I doubt it will turn out that way, but you never know. Leonsis ate her lunch with the arena deal. People seemed to think that was a win, because it keeps Chinatown alive. However, the District now owns the depreciating arena and paid for half the renovations. That wasn't a win IMHO, but some seemed excited about it.

She will run and win. She has no competition and has not even announced that she is running. There is no one who can beat her.
