| Is jewelry repair/bench jeweler a viable career option ? Anyone in this field able to comment on it ? Neurodiverse teen interested in this career path. |

Used to be quite lucrative to be a jeweler. Not so much anymore, though you can combine it with something to fit the changing times, such as doing jewelry repair as a pawnshop side gig.
Buying and selling gold and silver is also a good gig to combine with jewelry repair. |

I’d think that’s a great outside-the-box career for a neurodivergent. Add in watch repair and get the kid interested in buying, repairing and selling vintage and valuable watches and I’d say you have a viable career option.
It’s also an AI-proof job. |
| Switzerland is a great place to do this. There are training programs there. |
| I have seen stories about watch companies needing watch repair people and starting new training programs. |

It can be a good career, but you should look into apprenticeship programs.
