I'm guessing it's longer than the AO's at major state schools.

| I'm going with 15 minutes for solid cases. Assuming some quickly don't make the mark and are thrown out much faster. |
| Depends on the file. Some take a bit longer. Others have a sticky note that says "large donor family" or "coach's support". |
| I seem to recall this was in Who Gets In and Why. I need to look it up but am pretty sure it’s well under 10 minutes. And the process is more complex than a single AO reading. There are outside readers who do some prep work so the internal AOs can do a more streamlined review. And then they read in teams according to rubrics/matrices that are scored. It’s actually worth understanding how it works before your kid applies because you can help put together a more thoughtful application and suggest schools that are a better fit. |
