Federal Government Retirement Pay

| Assuming you retired awhile ago and all your paperwork is in and you have been receiving your government retirement pay for some time. Do you get your retirement pay during a government shutdown or do they stop until the government reopens? |

| Yes they are paid from a trust fund like social security not from annual appropriations |
