My son seems to think that the smaller the school, the less fun it will be. I don't really care if he decides to go to a small or big school, but I don't think he's correct that no one has fun at a 2400 person school.
Any advice on where I can point him to better educate himself, other than talking to people we know who attend smaller schools? |
| My kids spoke with students at the school who we knew somehow (graduate from HS, family friend etc) |
| Almost every school has a reddit subgroup. Obviously anyone can post, but I follow my college kid's subgroup and think that it pretty much tracks to reality. |

What does fun mean to him? Of course most people are happy and having fun where they are, but if his definition of fun doesn't match theirs, it doesn't help.
My DD reached out (mostly on Instagram) to clubs she might be interested in. Someone almost always got back to her and then she could ask all her questions, including what people usually did on Friday and Saturday nights. Then she could judge for herself if that sounded fun. |

To the extent that friendliness may be associated with fun, this site may be of interest:

| Doesn’t playboy do this? |
Hugh is long dead. It’s not the 1980/90s anymore lol That said, Playboy came to Virginia Tech to find girls for the college edition—this was 1990 or so. A girl I knew made it—she was not naked though in the magazine- bikini or cutoffs. They used to always have a college edition and they would rank the best party schools. Friend used to laugh that Hopkins (their school) was ranked as low as the service academies back then. |
