Ballibay closing - what now? Bucks Rock? MedOLark?

My daughter is registered for her second year at Ballibay and we’ve just learned they are closing. She’s pretty upset but wants to try another camp. We’d love to hear recommendations of other arts focused sleepaway camps with a similarly kind, warm, uncompetitive vibe. Bucks Rock and Med-O-Lark are on our radar and we’d love reviews. She loves theatre, glass and fiber arts. She also loved being able to try new things like dance and videography - both new interests now. Yeah, Ballibay was great for her. So sad.

OP here. I should say we have been chatting and there’s also a chance she’d be into attending a more general camp with decent art and theatre options. She’d love to do try things like sailing, riding, archery, that kind of thing. She is not at all sporty but has done things like the kayak and paddleboard day camp on the Potomac and loves to swim. So open to outdoorsy and water stuff but would be sad to be forced into team sports or at a camp where everyone is very sporty and she might feel out of place. Also not into mean girl vibes. Part of why we liked Ballibay was that it was just so accepting and open of individuality.

Hi OP! I'm Scott, the director of Buck's Rock. If you want to chat about options for your daughter for the summer, reach out to me at scott@bucksrockcamp.org.

I'm so sorry about Ballibay. It seems like a special place.
