| I just noticed in photos of me this past year that my eyes are no longer symmetrical—one looks significantly. The skin around each eye looks the same. The eyelid isn’t drooping. Is there any medical reason for this to happen? I in my 50s. Does this just happen with age? |

Does it only show when you’re smiling in photos? |
Not the OP, but this happens to me. I did some Googling and I guess it's a thing. |
| Same with me and both eyes seem smaller on my face too. |
| When I smile one eye is smaller than the other, but that's always been the case, even in photos from high school. |
| Is one bulging outward and that's why it looks bigger? If so, you should check that out. |
| One eye isn’t bulging — it is mainly noticeable when smiling. It looks terrible! |
Pretty normal especially as we age and the skin around our eyes isn't as tight when we smile. Thats why many olds do that fake no eye smile. |
| fat cheeks? |
| It could be your brow. Face muscles sometimes do not work equally well on both sides of the face. One side could be hyper/hypo active. |
| My drier eye looks smaller. They both seemed to sink into my skull after menopause. |
| Do you get forehead Botox? Maybe one eyebrow drooped? |
| Sun damage is often more on one side of face from driving. |
