Private trainer for kid with ADHD

Anonymous
DS plays PA1 Arlington and just got an ADHD diagnosis. He went from a starter who played most of the game to barely playing a half. Any recs for private trainers that have experience with kids with ADHD?

OP, Im in a similar boat. My kid has been in 2x states: State 1, Ready to go, dialed-in, high intensity. State 2, completely checked out, mind is elsewhere.

Be sure you discuss this with your Coach. Our Coach seems to be unsympathetic and our kid went from always involved, dialed in to labeled as not engaged, non starter, not involved which puts her in state 2.

We know a close family who medicates their kid, and in their case, it has made a world of difference. We have to keep looking at treatment and will try medication also.

Sorry I don't have a rec for trainer, maybe scan the coaching profile's on Coach Up.Com? The trainer will help with some skills and some focus, but it might be a band-aid fix. Also, communicate w your coach to let them know to try to keep your kid engaged in the play.

Once my kid went from playing the neutral, midfield and starting to the outside wing and a sub (all in 1 year) her concentration continued to plummet and its been a tough battle to keep her engaged.
-Good luck!

Any trainer or coach professionally trained, certified, licensed and with experience should have the knowledge and patience

I’m confused. How is the ADHD relevant here? Almost all the great athletes I went to HS with who played in college had ADHD. If anything it both treats the ADHD and makes you better at the sport if you enjoy it.

are you saying that his playing time was reduced after the diagnosis? he's had ADHD the whole time, right?

-Yeah, after the Coach found out, he benched the little freak as he really hates kids with disabilities!

-Just kidding, and let's hope not! But, it is a good question to provide some clarity.
