It needs to be vegetarian friendly (not just a salad), but otherwise, we are open to all cuisines. It doesn’t have to be $$$ to $$$$. The range of $ to $$ is fine as long as the food is delicious. Must be able to accommodate a party of six.
We are meeting my daughter’s boyfriend’s parents for the first time. They do not live in Frederick, but are there for the weekend. This meeting was a surprise. TIA |

The Orchard is good. Order their Afghan items, there aren't a lot but they are some of my favorites.
Pho an Loi is good for tasty but doesn't have to be $$$. The Mint Room has great Indian with a huge buffet on the weekends. Isabella's for tapas but vegetarian items may be limited, check the menu. |
| The Orchard |
| My vegetarian daughter loves the lentil soup at Isabella's, FWIW. |

Isabella's and The Showroom are both really good.
My favorite restaurant in Frederick is Dutch's Daughter, because the interior is lovely. Food is not as good as you'd expect in such a nice restaurant. Lots of blonde wood everywhere, with tapestries hanging on the walls. Nice setting for a quiet introduction. |
