Recommendation for a nice lunch in Frederick, MD?

Anonymous
It needs to be vegetarian friendly (not just a salad), but otherwise, we are open to all cuisines. It doesn’t have to be $$$ to $$$$. The range of $ to $$ is fine as long as the food is delicious. Must be able to accommodate a party of six.

We are meeting my daughter’s boyfriend’s parents for the first time. They do not live in Frederick, but are there for the weekend. This meeting was a surprise.

TIA

Sound like you'll be serving lunch at home, unfortunately.

The Orchard is good. Order their Afghan items, there aren't a lot but they are some of my favorites.

Pho an Loi is good for tasty but doesn't have to be $$$.

The Mint Room has great Indian with a huge buffet on the weekends.

Isabella's for tapas but vegetarian items may be limited, check the menu.

My vegetarian daughter loves the lentil soup at Isabella's, FWIW.

Isabella's and The Showroom are both really good.

My favorite restaurant in Frederick is Dutch's Daughter, because the interior is lovely. Food is not as good as you'd expect in such a nice restaurant. Lots of blonde wood everywhere, with tapestries hanging on the walls. Nice setting for a quiet introduction.
