Independent fee based agencies — were you paid today - Fri

Spouse is an attorney at a fee based agency, but we don’t see a deposit? Are all payments suspended?

The question is whether they have carryover funds (based on my very limited understanding). . .

So fees aren’t collected during shutdown from operations?

FDA exempt employees were paid and excepted and furloughed weren’t. However, some exempt people were accidentally not paid.

Seems like some agencies paid in the past are no longer paid: https://www.reddit.com/r/fednews/comments/1ofvpei/exempt_fed_but_didnt_get_paid_this_pay_period/

Thanks for the link. From that thread: "NFC ran fist pass a week early to accommodate law enforcement customers. Last pass occurs today, EPP and bank official pay date is Monday. Not today. Not Friday. If you don’t see pay Monday afternoon then worry about not getting paid"

Another answer from that reddit thread saying the same thing, but elaborating:

"Since you are Exempt (different than Excepted), assuming your pay is handled by the National Finance Center (NFC) they ran an off cycle processing schedule this past pay period (PP20).

For those who submitted and certified early it ran with an EFT pay day Wed, Oct 22, everyone else will have an EFT pay day of Mon, Oct 27.

Monday is actually the normal pay date as well, but most banks will post the funds early as a courtesy once they get notice the transaction is being sent. When there's an off cycle processing pay period, it's unusual for that to happen. You should see your pay as scheduled on Monday, you don't have anything to worry about before then.

If you get your Earnings and Leave Statement in MY EPP your pay is handled by NFC. You should be able to see your E&L on Sunday as normal.

Of note, you'll only be paid if you are exempt (i.e. your position is paid by other than annual appropriations which still has funds). If you are excepted or furloughed you won't see a pay check this pay period."

I am at a self-funded agency and was paid a couple of days early.

I work at a working capital fund bureau at State. Apparently, we had funds to pay folks, but leadership thought the appearance of people working and getting paid didn’t sit well with certain folks on the 7th floor. The skeleton crew in the office aren’t getting paid, though
