Are companies quietly adjusting to tariffs via layoffs? Is it the reason why inflation isn't showing up in the data?
And if you further add the need for "labor savings" as a result of capital investment in AI, the American worker is in for a rough time. |
Inflation is rising fast what are you talking about The government isn’t reopening and there will be no jobs Yes we are headed to the great depression because of MAGA stupids buckle up |

Layoffs arent really that bad right now, most companies are just not hiring but also not hiring. But yes, the uncertainty surrounding the tarriffs has companies being very cautious because they dont know what is going to happen with the tarrifffs including the possibility that they get struck down entirely.
The tarriffs are showing up in the inflation data in a gradual way. Some companies stocked up before the tarriffs and are blending the price increases in gradually. There is also a lot of transshipping going on to dodge the tarriffs. |
| I work for a manufacturer and we aren’t laying off due to tariffs but we certainly are working on our sourcing strategy. Our segment of the market remains strong for the moment but obviously that can always change. |
| Yes they are. Corporations are scared of this president. They are not going to publicly say things that will upset him. When Dems are in power corporations are so arrogant and so outspoken that it feels like they are the ones running the country. |
Is your company laying off due to tariffs? |
