Training for Home Schoolers

Hi,

We are moving to Arlington from Charlotte. Our 10-year is homeschooled and we have daily training every morning here in NC. Are there training options for homeschoolers available in Arlington, NOVA or DC?

I am sure you could find a private trainer willing to work in the morning. Expect to
pay @$100/hour.

For lots of money you should be able to find it. There are extremely limited daily group training sessions here in the DMV. You could contact St James Academy and pay for their training only option, I think it's about $20 per year. As the cost of living is so much more here and traffic is terrible, there are few coaches that are available to set up something like that. Discounted private training might be had for $80 per session -which would most likely be unattainable.

You can try CoachUp for private training. Maybe one of the coaches there trains during the school day. As others stated, be prepared to pay a lot. We paid $75 years ago for private lessons (pre-2020). The last private trainer we had was over $100 per hour. I don’t think you’ll find any formal group programs.

You could try posting to a homeschoolers group to see if there are any parents who coach groups of homeschoolers. I know the homeschoolers we knew when my kids were young were often part of larger groups that organized field trips and sometimes things like music or art lessons.

They don't have their own fields. The poster requested daily morning times M-F, as part of the home school day. The problem is no on has a permit for those times and a lot of those guys work regular day jobs.

OP- are you specifically looking for a homeschooler group session? Or just a trainer with weekday morning availability?

OP, I am looking for group sessions. I guess it is more common in Charlotte.

I guess I will look into St James and VRSC but the messaging on this board says the coaching and quality is not high.

We did not move up here for soccer so I guess this is one of the potential losses.

Home schooling is not popular here for a reason.

Given permitting issues there won’t be options for this.

There aren’t a lot of homeschoolers in arlington to find enough for morning group soccer trainings. But there are plenty of private trainers around arlington who would be more than happy to take your money and offer training. Some private training is also in small groups.

I'm sure someone would meet up with your kid in the morning. The going rate for private training is in the $100/hour range. Try Coach Up.
