Trying to quit or cut down on drinking due to all the usual middle aged reasons. After a long, stressful workday, I really want a drink. What do others use as a reward/destresser/transition from the workday?
I have heard going for a walk, but that does not cut it for me! |

Sparkling water.
Try Topo Chico Tangerine and Perrier Blackberry |

A gift to myself has been therapy to change my mindset so I dont think I need a reward when I have a hard day.

Intriguing. But don’t you get all stressed out and feel like you need something to release it? |
| I love mocktails. Phony Negroni is my fave. |
|
Pelligrino.
But this was a bad day. I ate most of a pint of Hagen Dazs Vanilla Bean. |
Yes, these are really good! |
| Frozen yogurt bar, dark chocolate, popcorn. But I'm not someone who drinks daily... |
| You should try AA meetings after work. |

I used to think I deserved ice cream after a bad day. I was fat. I deserved to be healthy. Had to change my ways.
Just try another non-alcoholic drink. I gave up Diet Coke by switching to iced tea. |

How is sparkling water a reward? It’s just carbonated water that was once barely adjacent to something fruity. You could have it literally anytime. Pop the can and done.
At least put some effort in. OP, do you like tea? What about high-quality loose leaf tea with lemon, honey, all that jazz? |

At some point my mind switched. If I have a bad day, I deserve to double down on things that are good for me (or not terrible). Hard cardio. Favorite take out. A fluffy book. Call/texting with a friend. Early bedtime.

| I watch something on Youtube or Netflix. |
| Sounds weird but the “bite” of lemon ginger tea kinda resonates like wine. Good luck op and ignore the haters. F |
| Stop thinking you need a reward for a day |
