| My DS was planning to apply to the Navy but with Trump firing so much talent and putting in strange policies, he's rethinking. |
| I went to one and have a role in congressional nominations, in case I can help answer questions |
| How do you go about getting a congressional nomination ? |
Ask your congressman. |
Grad. Check their websites, check the Academy websites for help if necessary. Apply to congressional rep and both U.S. senators, and the Academy(ies)simultaneously. It’s not sequential. Strongly consider ROTC, too. |
And the timeline is earlier-- it would be too late for anyone in the class of 26 to start now (unless they could get a presidential nomination, and even then nearly impossible). |
| Grad. Probably true. But check, if applicable |

A young guy who put wooden shutters in our house told us that he had been in the Navy pre-Trump (the first time round) and that there'd been significant changes after Trump took over.
The food was greatly improved, the uniforms were all updated and new, but that every single morning at 6am they had to be armed and ready to deploy. Every morning. He said it was completely insane and he dropped out. |
Grad. Does that sound like a reasonable and reliable account to you? What would that even look like (armed and ready to deploy)? Individually and personally, with a rifle? What if you’re assigned to a training command? Did “they” refer to his ship? What if they were in a maintenance availability period? What did he mean he “dropped out”? He was medically discharged? His enlistment ended and he did not renew? He was released with an administrative separation? How did he do with the shutters? |
| OP - Is your DC applying to colleges this year? |
