| When I look for mini muffin trays I see a lot of silicone options. Do people use these? Not sure whether to get the normal nonstick type or one of these silicone ones. Does anyone have a brand they recommend? |
| Usapan has a mini muffin. Never used this one but have 3-4 others and they’re all great. Made in Ohio too. |
| The silicone ones suck, hard to handle. Get an aluminum one. |
| I have a nonstick. It works ok for denser mini muffins. The bigger-crumb muffins sometimes fall apart. |
| I would not use silicone or aluminum. Steel or cast iron only. If using coated steel, then use muffin cups to protect you more from the coating. |
| I don't like the silicone ones. |
This. People are crazy to use silicone for cooking anything. |
|
I use a nonstick mini muffin pan BUT use bleach free compostable liners. like these:

| The silicone are the worst. The nonstick are never actually nonstick and a pain to wash out between batches. I use the liners. I rarely make the minis though since the juice is not worth the squeeze! |
I don’t find minis any more difficult than regular size. Same batter, shorter cooking time. Maybe it takes an extra min or 2 to fill the pan? |
Tried and don't use. Nordic ware has aluminum made in the USA and it works well. Fox Run has stainless steel - not sure where it's manufactured. |
| I have some silicone ones and they're super easy. No greasing required. |
| I have nonstick and I have no problems getting them out or cleaning it. I wouldn't get silicone, too flexible and I could imagine it bending and me losing some muffins. |
I adore my USA pan items!! So well made. |
|
Get USA pan or Nordic ware.
Also never: -use Pam or other bottled spray on it. Use semi - or melted butter -use paper liners, also rub some melted butter on those I use silicone liners on my bigger muffin pan, but I admit I’ve never bought them for mini muffins Once I started doing this, I have never tarnished my pans. I have the easiest time cleaning them. They may last forever. The minute you use spray, it leaves a stickiness, and you put an eventual expiration that pan. May not be a while, but eventually. Flour is another option instead of paper liner, but I still thing that’s putting an eventual expiration on/harder to clean. |
