What’s wrong with pillow cases for trick or treating?

Maybe kids don't know about doing that. Same with paper grocery bags. Would not be surprised if young kids have never even seen a paper grocery bag.

Do a tiktok about it and get virused or whatever it's called.

But we’ve gotten all extra over the years now with bags marketed especially for trick or treating. So we buy those, for the cute photos.

I guess they aren't as Instagram worthy? Mine switched to a pillowcase after the toddler years and he's gotten complimented on it most years haha.

tbf a paper grocery bag would get ripped pretty early in the night TOT. At least the way paper bags have been made these past few years. They barely make it home from a normal grocery trip in the car.

Why? Just because it's something you did when you were a child, that's not their intended purpose, they're not designed for it, and they don't have handles... so it's just nostalgia for you? Celebrating frugality?

I would never take my bedding out of my house to use for another purpose than their intended one. It just feels inappropriate.

I grew up in Scotland, with hardcore Halloween. Kids made their own costumes, and had to do a little performance to get a treat at the door. No pillowcases.

The Trader Joe's Halloween tote bags are great for this.

FWIW, I never took a pillowcase - just a plastic bag as a kid. My parents would have never wanted food mixed with bedding.

You don't need something as big as a pillowcase.

The only kid I've seen who used one was incredibly greedy. He went out for three hours in rich neighborhood and came home with 3/4 of a pillowcase. His mom let him keep it. He eats it all year.

Nobody has old pillowcases? Wow. We keep them even if the sheets are not good anymore. Among other things, in case of fire you pop your cat in one and flee. No looking for a carrier or leash and they can't claw out ot it easily.
