What happened on Key Bridge?

Key bridge has been shut down in both directions tonight, and I’ve never been in worse traffic. Does anyone know what happened? Can’t find any info online.

I am all for visiting dignitaries (especially Ukraine), but this should have been broadcasted because it was major closures during rush hour. I spent two hours on what should have been a 20 minute drive.

+1 my neighbor could not pick up their kid on time. Many families scrambled.

Is it still shut? I am on Glebe in Arlington trying to get across the chain bridge and usually there’s not a bit of traffic this time of day but there’s a 30+ minute backup it says. Are people using this as an alternate? Heads up if you have to pick up kids anytime soon.
