| I recently good a bill close to $750 on textbooks in a school with a 55k tuition. I do find it a bit stingy give the cost of education. Is it common to pay for textbooks in private schools or usually is this something that it’s included in the tuition? |
| No this is not included. |
| Wait until college! |

Our k-8 provided all books and materials. HS does not.
They really can’t, in fairness. There is much more choice of classes in HS, and book costs can vary significantly depending on the courses your child takes. Averaging that and wrapping it into tuition could easily mean one family is paying way too much and another family is getting a great bargain. Don’t split the dinner check evenly when some folks have steak and some folks have salad. |
| Tuition for our HS includes all books. |

Tuition at our Catholic HS includes all textbooks.
|
| Books and tech (except for earbuds and calculator) included in tuition |
| Included at ours. |
| Included at ours. Graphing calculator, which is somehow as expensive as they were when I was in high school, is also included. |
| Not for upper school, but I never spent over $200 in a school year on textbooks and my kid is a senior. |
My kid has not bought a book yet and he's a junior engineering major. I definitely spend more on books for my US student. |
| Question for the folks who have textbooks included in tuition: are they loaned for the duration of the class, but belong to the school, or do students own and keep them? |
We return the textbooks but keep the books in English class like Great Gatsby or Pride and Prejudice. |
Same here. I think they may also keep world language workbooks. |
