I am making applesauce for the first time. The recipe called to boil a small amount of water with apples and then mash with a fork, but now there is a LOT of liquid with the apples after boiling. Do I just mash the liquid with the apples and it will get absorbed, or should I drain all or part of it? There is a lot of spices (eg, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc) floating around in the liquid, so I'm hesitant to toss it because then I think the applesauce might lose some flavor. TIA.
Probably should have drained he water out first, then mash apples and add a bit of suger and your spices.
just keep cooking until some of the water boils off.
OK, thank you! I will keep boiling for a bit longer.
