| Hi. A few years ago, I picked up a vintage silk twill scarf. I love it because the look completely changes based on how you fold it. When it’s laid out, it’s just an odd jumble of various patterns. Is there a term to describe this type of design? Also, is there a way to search for scarves where the logo is hidden, rather than screaming across every corner? I’d like to have a scarf that I can wear many ways. TIA. |
| If you google silk twill patchwork foulard, you will get some hits that seem to have lots of patterns going on, and no overly noticeable logo. But I'm not entirely sure this is what you're looking for? |

That’s not what I’m looking for, but it does accomplish a similar goal.
Here’s a scarf that’s similar to mine, which is also a Cartier. The product photos don’t show the whole design, but I assume it’s varied throughout the scarf to provide a range of different looks. Sorry I don’t know how to put a photo directly in my post. https://www.comomilano.com/products/cartier-scarf-sky-blue-brown-royal-blue-twill-silk-36-inch-square-foulard?srsltid=AfmBOoprHcAK3xj5snTiY0oppoRP6Z696SOhQHSwqB7euzYSdY3yN8Eo |
Oh, right, so you're looking for a normal scarf. I have Hermes ones. They're famous for them. |
|
Thrift stores or online secondary market have them.

| Yes, but not something like Brides De Gala or Paris Qui Roule. No matter how you folded those, they’ll look the same. Les Courses is more similar to what I’m thinking. You can fold it so you can see the horses, or you can fold it to show the stripes. Is there a term that differentiates between the all-over designs and the designs that vary with in the same scarf? Thanks for your expertise! |
I don’t think so but imo just look for something asymmetrical with a lot of colors. |
Thanks! My favorite scarf was actually from an online secondary market. I’m asking if there are search terms that concisely describe a scarf with these flexible patterns. It sounds like perhaps not. |
