Bedwetting - Older Kids

Anonymous
If you had a teen (NT or ND) that experienced ongoing bedwetting into their teens, did you finally see resolution once they completed puberty? In other words, did it seem after you finally passed this difficult stage (for all), that the issue really seemed to be tied to a delay in maturation of systems (heavy sleeping, small bladder, ongoing high urine output, etc) that resolved once the growing progress was mostly or completely finished? (Also curious if your bedwetting teen experienced puberty on the later side). Thanks in advance for sharing.

Yes, for the most part. Our NT teen did seem to get better in his early teens, but now he sleep walks to the bathroom which I’m not sure is that much better.

My kids are both definitely later like 11 or 12. We did all the things, including seeing if it was constipation, various alarms, etc. the only thing that worked was this specific alarm/underwear: https://bedwettingstore.com/products/rodger-wireless-bedwetting-alarm-system?_pos=6&_sid=4fef05a04&_ss=r

They have kids and adult sizes.

It took a while and wasn’t perfect, but it taught them to notice the signals. It’s really hard hang in there OP!

We also got desopressin (sp?) from our doctor for the occasional sleepover, summer camp etc. It should not be used frequently, but it is OK once in a while.
