| Just moved $100K from checking in settlement account. Where to invest? |
| Treasury ladder. Hold to maturity, never lose principal. I buy up to 5 year instruments but I am old. |

Such a tough question without knowing your current portfolio and allocations.
You looking short term or long term? How much of your portfolio is the 100k? Do you have any outstanding bills/debts? |
| You need to tell us your time horizon/risk tolerance. Are you ok losing 30% tomorrow if it means 15 years from now you have more? |
| If you won't need the money in the next 5-10 years, then just invest in VTI and be done. If investing all at once makes you nervous, you can set up to invest $10k each week for the next 10 weeks. |
Can you share what your ladder looks like? |
| If it's Vanguard - they put a 7-10 day hold on my settled money before I could transfer it out for "fraud purposes"! |
+1 Do you need the cash to pay bills? Long term? Short term? If you don't need the cash, invest it in the market, obviously. Index funds, mix of large/small, domestic/internationally. If you need it in the short term, invest in high yield CD, MMA. Unfortunately, with the rate cut, the highest you will find will be < 4%, probably. |
I have 5,3,2,1 year and some shorter term ones. When one matures, I reinvest or sometimes hold in short term to get enough for a larger longer term one. It's not that scientific lol. I am wary of being locked unto low rates that looked good at the time. My 7 year one was below 4 but "good" when I foolishly got it. |
| What is the point of these posts? Do you have $10 million invested already? Do you have no money invested? Are you 25? 65? I think they are just to brag, to suggest someone has $100k laying around like it's $10. |

OMG I'd buy a ton of gold!!! lol
Or keep cash fluid. I wouldn't invest in market right now or invest 35% and not 100% cause market will be tanking soon enough..
