Larry Bushart - $2M Bond for posting a Trump Meme

Anonymous
A former police officer in TN posted some memes in a pro-Charlie Kirk facebook group. One of these memes included a direct quote from Trump stating “we have to get over it” the *day after* a shooting at Perry HS in Iowa. Bushart commented that “this seems relevant today,” clearly pointing out the disconnect between national mourning of a pro-gun podcaster, while our own president thinks 24 hours is sufficient time to move on from a school shooting.

Unfortunately for Bushart he lives in a town full of idiots in TN who took this as a threat (wiiiillld stretch) because there is a Perry HS in that town. Allegedly he was clearly “trying to invoke panic” that he was plotting to commit violence at the local HS.

Never mind the fact this meme/quote has widely been circulated on the internet and that Bushart routinely posts in favor of gun reform.

But he made fun of Trump and wasn’t sad about Charlie Kirk, so now he is incarcerated on $2M bond. He won’t have a hearing until December. One more step to punish someone for criticizing the president.

What are the MAGA excuses for this one? Don’t they supposedly love the first amendment?

The Kirkists do not believe in freedom of speech or any individual rights. They want North Korea.

Wow, MAGA are anti-free speech, and want to jail anyone who dares to mock Heir Trump.

This is what you get for living in a red state. Another reason to avoid red states.

Yea, progressives are super annoying and want to cancel people who are anti-DEI, but they don't jail people for it.

Perhaps he shouldn’t have been trying to incite panic.

A jury will decide whether this was warranted or not. He will be tried and either convicted or acquitted. Either way justice will be served.

Someone clearly didn't read the post...

Just another news item to throw on the mountain of evidence that Republicans never cared about free speech, they only used it as a cudgel.

They have no principles beyond the pursuit of power for power's sake.

I need to see the meme to judge for myself. I refuse to be drawn into supporting someone merely because other people tell me he's supposed to be on my side because he disapproves of the same people I do.

The sad reality is that many people are perfectly ready to bully and oppress others they perceive to be enemies. We need to fix that sort of mental malady first.

Scary. He'll sue and win big. That's the only way to fight this. Besides protesting en mass on Saturday.

Meh. I'd be panicking if I were a local, too. When they think of "Perry HS", it's doubtful the one in Iowa is the first thing that comes to mind.

It says “one day after.” So unless everyone thinks they missed a school shooting the day before or that this guy is a time traveler sharing a Trump quote from so future shooting, this “panic” is BS.

Not to mention a quick google search about the meme could clear up any panic.

Please describe how he tried to "incite panic."
