Long story short, need to sell mom's house. Her current realtor is a joke, overpriced it in this market, been sitting for almost a year. Mom's health is declining and she needs to be in assisted living very soon, probably memory care in a year, per doctor's estimate. Her house is paid off and we need to liquidate. I have never heard of anyone in my personal life using these services and I'm wondering if anyone has had experience here?
Fire the realtor, use something like redfin, set a more reasonable price, sell as is. Move her out and get it cleaned up.
Don't do it. Agree with PP that you need to fire the agent and get a new one.

There was a moment during the pandemic when these quick-sell companies were offering decent prices (and in some cases they were overpaying), because they had tons of investor $ and wanted to show quick growth. But that era is long gone and their business model is dying on the vine.
If you sell to one of those companies today they will seriously lowball you, so just find a good local agent, tell them you need them to price it to go under contract within the first two weeks, and you’ll be fine. |
Thanks all! Yeah, we're going to head into a meeting with this deadbeat realtor now... Wish us luck.
