Sleep Study

Anonymous
Has anyone had a sleep study at Sleep in Mind (or Dr Buckley)? They seem great but don’t take our insurance. Those that do have a long wait and we can’t wait.

We did ours at Inova with their pediatric sleep clinic. It took maybe three months to get an overnight appointment but we had the option of being on a list for a cancellation.

Inova takes insurance. It will not be scheduled the same week but also not 6 months wait.

Also did ours at Children’s with another type of insurance. I think they take all insurance basically

OP here: how long was the wait at Children's? DC is 17. For some services, Children's won't take her. Was Inova good? I'm not getting good vibes from the place that I found that takes our insurance. But I found out by calling our insurance provider that it will be around $900 out of pocket out of network, vs. $109 in network.

DP but for us the wait was like 6-8 weeks for a sleep study but this was a few years ago. They have it down to a science. I think there is a lot of rescheduling, though, so it is worth calling and getting on a list.

We did Inova and also have an older kid (16). It was a lot of younger kids there but our experience was seamless. We were at the office by the Mosaic district. I assume that is their only one.

Called them and the soonest appointment is March 2025. Sigh.

We just scheduled a sleep study last week at Children's for March 2025. :/ I would also check with Georgetown as a few years ago they had almost no wait.

They told us they sometimes had cancellations but we just waited since we didn’t really have an emergency situation. I have no idea how often they have cancellations. I think they probably do 4-6 studies every night.
