I am looking for a foundation that might cover very small stuff but gives a clean look - lightweight and sheer feel
I am ok with foundation powder or liquid. |
| Dior Backstage foundation is marvelous. I am a fan of the natural look, and I hate feeling make-up on my face. This checks both boxes: it smoothes out my skin, and is very lightweight, and lasts all day without any issues. |
| Light and sheer but with coverage for your small spots cannot exist. Sheer is the opposite of coverage. |
| I use Colorescience Flex tinted mineral sunscreen everyday and love it. Sometimes I just use classic as well. |
| I like Dior forever skin. I have rosacea and it’s the only foundation I’ve ever found that helps neutralize/cover the red without visibly looking like I am wearing makeup. I use both the concealer and the foundation - game changer |
| Agree on Dior Forever products. |

I would go with what Kate Middleton supposedly used around the time of her wedding. Supposedly Bobbi Brown.
https://theglossarymagazine.com/beauty-wellness/kate-middleton-beauty-buys/ I've been meaning to check out the YSL Touche Eclat concealer pen. |
| Cle de Peau Beaute The Foundation is still my favourite. I've tried the one my La Prairie and it is nice but this one is still the best. |

It's not fancy but I really like Almay Smart Shade. It has a little sunscreen too. I have pale skin and the tone changes often with various degrees of sun and it really does a great job of providing light coverage that looks natural, feels weightless, and keeps my skin healthy.

I went to Sephora asking for the same thing- plus I have more red in my skin tone than I would like.
I got two things- Hourglass Skin Tint Foundation and the Merit Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer stick. I like both of them and since I am bad at make up- they are both really easy to use. |

+1 OP, you either want full, medium, or a tinted moisturizer/BB/CC cream. For the last, try Dr Jart. |

More light and sheer: Tarte BB Blur tinted moisturizer (also has SPF which is nice). I wear this most days.
More coverage while still not feeling heavy: I’d try out a variety of regular liquid foundations and see which one you like best. There are a lot of options out there. The employees at Sephora used to be able to put together a bunch of samples out of their testers, not sure if they still do this though. I’ve used the Dior Forever foundation and liked it but it is $$$. I usually use IT Cosmetics celebration foundation, which is a powder but some people don’t like powder foundations if they have dry skin. So it’s all down to personal preference and your skin type. |
