Independent living facility holiday tip protocol

Dad's facility asking for $1/day for tips to employees (not allowed to tip independently), so $365 for the year. He moved in June - cheap to just tip for half the year?

No, give $50 - that's absurd. They should budget a holiday bonus.

Is it anonymously pooled? Anonymously collected? If people know how much he gives that could affect their attitude. I would do $365 or $185. Round up.

Not cheap. Tip proportionate to services rendered.

The organizers wouldn't have given a $1/day figure if they weren't accounting for comings and goings.

That said, if the service is good and a bigger tip is affordable, then it's nice to be generous.

Good gravy. We pay $15k/month for assisted. I’d faint if we were asked to tip. The billion dollar company should do it.

They are probably including all the staff, but its a bit of a big ask given how much the facility costs.

Tip what you can, but that is typical in a nicer facility. Even if you are paying $10-14K/month, those employees are doing challenging work and deserve a tip.

If you pay a lot for hair or meals I guess no tip. No nurses treat or thank you card if loved ine was in hospital
