Recent hot flashes at 45, already on HRT

I've been on HRT for about a year (100 progesterson, .5 estrogen patch) to help with severe sleep issues. Over the past few months, I've been having issues again a week before my period, with mood and night sweats. Sleep has been OK.

This past cyle, I had a period that was just a day, that coincided withthe start of a virus (headache, coughing, fatigue). The headache continued for several days adn I think was hormonally triggered or extended. Headaches aren't common for me so this one was really tough.

The worst symptom though was night sweats all night long. Tons of sweating and also sweating from my head that literally poured down my face. I started a new job last week and I'm wondering whether the excitement and anxiety with that change triggered or extended these night sweats. I've also had a few bouts of sweating during the day, which I haven't really experienced before. In addition to HRT I take 30 mg of paxil daily.

Anyone else have any similar issues ever? I can't tell whether it's just teh combination or stress, period start, and a virus that together created this situation but I'm exhausted. And don't want to keep dealing wiht this.

It's just part of getting older. HRT is not going to magically make everything better.

Is your period still regular? I believe (ask your dr) you can adjust your estrogen dosage right before your period to help with symptoms. Mine is irregular so I can’t really do that. I also had a spell of headaches and ended uo adjusting my estrogen (with Dr) and have had a good reduction.
