| Going to Little Washington and looking for recommendations for fun nearby activities. There are lots of wineries so curious if any are recommended. There is Shenandoah National Park, most of which should still be accessible during the shutdown. What have people done within 45 mins of so of that area that they enjoyed? |
| Hiking |
|
There are a lot of shops in town and art galleries.
We look at those the day we get there, then next day go up to the mountains. There are wineries with very pretty views but the wines are not great, we save our blood levels for check in |
| If you're staying in the Inn, they had a tour of grounds that we did. |

The art tour is coming up. https://fallarttour.org/ |
This! |
| Stony Man hike is easy and second highest peak in the park |
| Stony man is a great option. The wineries are only worth doing if you’re worn out from a great hike. |
| There is a little grocery/market store in Sperryville that has fancy picnic fixings on your way to the park entrance. |
Old Rag is close by too. Not too easy, but not hard, if you're in OK shape. |
| Yeah there is almost nothing to do out there but go hiking or drive back to civilization. |
| Thanks all, hiking it is. We’ve been to ILW before, but only for 1 night so didn’t leave. This time we are there 2 nights. |
| Apple picking at FT valley farm |
| Pen Druid brewery in Sperryville |
| We haven’t gone to it but there is a dark sky park right by ILW that I’ve wanted to check out — bring a telescope and look at the stars without light pollution |
