I'm leaving to run some errands soon, but want to keep this post alive so people tuned in can share their thoughts. First, kudos to parents, especially the ones in the front row. Your banners are strong and clearly visible from the screen. Second, Laura Stuart is attending. At least she shows some care. I just heard Mrs. Potter lying bluntly in front of the public that they "had been collecting community feedbacks since September", and "updating the plan according to community feedback". |
| Thank you for posting this, PP! |
| Impressed with the signs! |
| What do the distance learning comments mean? They deliberately took away the virtual classes/school? |
She's a full-time volunteer. She has nothing but time. And showing up to listen is one thing, taking action and speaking out is another. While she does lots of the former, I have yet to see her do the latter. |
| Jeannie Franklin is a mess. |
+1 She doesn’t know the number of schools they’ve sought feedback from? Or doesn’t have those notes in front of her? Good grief. |
| Nice work by Kristin Mink pushing them to get it on the record that the changes require Board of Ed approval. |
Agreed. So why the heck does the Board of Ed not know that and keep saying their remit is only restricted to voting on the Boundary Study? |

Natali Fani Gonzalez: "This plan was put together with an equality frame, rather than an equity frame"
Amen |
| Wow Fani Gonzalez is really ripping into them. Goes to show how it matters that our public officials have kids in the public schools and not just the wealthy schools. |
| Councilmember Fani-Gonzalez hit MCPS with the truth serum. She expressed vote of no confidence in MCPS's ability to pull this program model off on this timeline with this many missing questions. |
| Fani-Gonzalez is harsh and right on point 👍 |
|
MCPS looks so underprepared. The only way they can dig their way out of this is if the BOE presentation is dramatically better and I just don't have the confidence they will pull that off.
Why is Essie, who not new to the County Council or MCPS, showing up like this? |
She has to sell the Superintendent's agenda |
