I don’t feel like job hunting

I was laid off 2 months ago. Before that I was working crazy long hours. Is this normal? I just do not feel motivated. Taking time off made me realize I was unknowingly exhausted I think.

There is really no point to job hunting at the moment because there are very few jobs available. Intuitively, you know this. Plan to take more time off - at least until after November elections and probably until after the new year. Enjoy your time, put no pressure on yourself.

It’s been six months for me and my motivation is so low. I have a phone screen interview later this afternoon and I don’t even want to do it. The longer I’m away from regular work, the harder it is to imagine going back in any way. I feel stuck in a weird limbo. This is my first layoff and the emotional aspect of it has been surprisingly difficult. It’s a process.

But how are you paying your bills?

Do you feel like eating? Like paying rent? Nothing is stopping from you from sleeping under a highway and shooting fentanyl. What’s your bar

You maybe depressed? Lack confidence?

Is it effecting your marriage?

Then stop. Enjoy your life. Go outside and count the colors of the leaves or feel the breeze or sunlight. Breathe. It’s time you stopped and enjoyed. No guilt.
