Declining views of capitalism in the US

Are we finally ready for more populist socialist politicians?

MAGA would never admit that even as they want populist socialist policies because they have zero clue what that really means.

This. They love their disability checks, social security, the stimulus checks, farm subsidies, etc. but hate the word "socialism." They're even cheering government owned stakes in companies.

Just call it a freedom check and print it on American flag paper or something.

How bad is wealth disparity in the Us? Compared to the 70s 80s

I don't think most people are wanting socialism.

They are sort of disappointed with the way our capitalist system tends to want to leverage India and China, which aren't capitalist by the way. The companies want all of the protections and handouts, but they never really reciprocate.

It's just more of the, "we want immigrants, if we don't get more immigrants we'll offshore and leave to India and China".

If that's the capitalism you're referring to, no I'm not interested in bailing them out with tax funded Ponzi schemes subsidizing a perpetually poor labor pool for Walmart as it are.

Really bad...the Reagan tax reform really started the upward consolidation of wealth that has accelerated in the decades since.

The dehumanization of workers is the logical conclusion of capitalism because it is a fundamentally materialistic system. The worst impulses of capitalism were moderated by other forces, like the church historically, but with the church's decline capitalism has been able to run unhindered. At the end of the day, you and I are less important to capitalists than some number on a spreadsheet.

I bet Trump establishes a health care plan called “Trump Care” that is basically “Medicare for All,” and the GOP will give it a thumbs up!
