Tell me about substitute teaching in FCPS

I'm looking at the possibility if the gov't is not open next week. $21 an hour isn't going to replace my paycheck, but it's something.
If you have been a sub in FCPS can you share your experience. Are you able to pick your location, grade level, etc.? How long does it take to actually be brought on? Thanks for any insight. |

| I don't think you can get through the slow application process in time for next week, unless you're already through it. FCPS takes forever to process applications. |

| Most school districts take 4-6 weeks to fully process someone to be able to work in a school building in any capacity. Sometimes it's even longer. |
