| Just wondering if any of your kids have reported back. Some reddit posters seem to think the second reading section was hard and/or had long passages, longer and more difficult than the practice PSAT. One poster mentioned there being some standard deviation questions as well as several questions lifted directly from practice SATs; if the latter is true, that would be contrary to requirements for standardization. |
| I don’t think everyone gets exactly the same sets of questions anymore. Like the SAT. DC’s isn’t until Friday anyway. |
|
That's correct, they don't. However, there do seem to be some generalities across test dates. So, I'm curious about anecdotal experiences. |
| Is there going to be a thread for every SAT/PSAT? |
|
 Yes. |
|
The test difficulty has changed and the questions are bit different from previous. So this year is crowd source time. |
| My junior, who has taken the SAT twice and got a 1390 in August (no score for October yet) said the math was easy and the reading/writing was just as hard as the regular SAT. |
| My kid said the verbal was difficult. |
| My kid also thought the verbal was hard, especially section 2. Kid has already taken the SAT and this may have been comparable in difficulty. I hope I'm wrong, but this does not bode well. It seems that lately the harder tests do not necessarily come with sufficient compensation in scoring, as in, the equating is off. We'll see. |
| My kid took the practice PSAT last weekend and got a perfect score. He said the real one today was definitely harder. He took the real SAT last summer— not sure how it compared to that. |
| I heard same. Math was easy / verbal second section was harder than SAT practice |
| Any word on scores for this test date? My kid took it but does not have a score yet, Fri evening. Scores were supposed to be released Thurs evening. |
| My kid took it Oct 10, and app says the score result will arrive Nov 5. |
| my kid took it without any practice before, he is in 10th. He did really well on RW but not so great on math. turns out he did not use desmos! |
| Still waiting on score. Weird. Hopefully tomorrow. |
