Bringing Party Leftovers Into Office

I can't believe this needs to be said, but if you hosted a football watching party at your house on Sunday and only invited half of the office, don't bring the potluck leftovers into the office on Monday

That's rude and tacky.

WHY NOT i LOVE A FREE LUNCH

Guarantee you there are people who will eat it. People in offices go crazy for free food.

I wouldn't be butt hurt about not being invited, but I personally wouldn't want to eat something that was sitting out for 4 hours and then refrigerated overnight just to sit out again.

It's not about being butt hurt. It's about not being a trashy person.

Agree with you on the other point.

It's all around in very bad taste. Invited or not throwing old food at people like that. It's sat out. Gross.

How do you know where the leftovers are from? Are there footballs on cupcakes or something? I'd eat that.

Extra unopened bags of chips or containers of dip are ok.

As noted--this is a bad idea from a food safety perspective (as are potluck events in general). You don't want to make everyone in the office sick.

Even if the entire office was invited, it's weird to bring leftovers from a house party into the office.

Office scavengers will eat anything.

I hate when people do this. I used to work with someone who did this all the time. She'd always mention how she didn't want the food around the house to tempt her. She talked a lot about watching her diet. Thanks, I guess the rest of us don't care and just want to pig out on your leftovers, we're so desperate.

It all depends on the leftovers, says my millennial son.

The 20-somethings in my office will eat anything, and I am as happy for them to have my leftovers as they are to eat them.
