I can't believe this needs to be said, but if you hosted a football watching party at your house on Sunday and only invited half of the office, don't bring the potluck leftovers into the office on Monday
That's rude and tacky. |
WHY NOT i LOVE A FREE LUNCH |
| Guarantee you there are people who will eat it. People in offices go crazy for free food. |
| I wouldn't be butt hurt about not being invited, but I personally wouldn't want to eat something that was sitting out for 4 hours and then refrigerated overnight just to sit out again. |
It's not about being butt hurt. It's about not being a trashy person. Agree with you on the other point. |
| It's all around in very bad taste. Invited or not throwing old food at people like that. It's sat out. Gross. |
| How do you know where the leftovers are from? Are there footballs on cupcakes or something? I'd eat that. |
| Extra unopened bags of chips or containers of dip are ok. |
| How do you know where the food comes from? |
| As noted--this is a bad idea from a food safety perspective (as are potluck events in general). You don't want to make everyone in the office sick. |
| Even if the entire office was invited, it's weird to bring leftovers from a house party into the office. |
| Office scavengers will eat anything. |
I hate when people do this. I used to work with someone who did this all the time. She'd always mention how she didn't want the food around the house to tempt her. She talked a lot about watching her diet. Thanks, I guess the rest of us don't care and just want to pig out on your leftovers, we're so desperate. |
| It all depends on the leftovers, says my millennial son. |
| The 20-somethings in my office will eat anything, and I am as happy for them to have my leftovers as they are to eat them. |
