My 2nd grade DD eats lunch in school. Recently, she is being charged two separate charges for a single lunch. One is for $2.55 (shows up as ES lunch) and the other is for $3.00 that shows up as entree in MSB account. DD says she only picks 1 from 2-3 available options and only puts in her PIN once. Is it normal to get charged both fees? I would have thought it would be one or the other but not both?
No, that is not normal. Call your school to ask.
Call/email the school. There's also the possibility that someone is (unintentionally) using her PIN instead of theirs.

Happened to us years ago. The school was adding all kinds of things. Child was gluten free and had orders of bread sticks and pizzas that were fraud. We complained to the school and it stopped immediately after.
Do you check your account everyday? I never do and even if they triple charge me, I wouldn’t know. Do most check their account every day?
just contact them
OP here. Thanks everyone, I will contact the school. I don't check everyday. DD's account ran out of money way earlier than expected, so I checked and found what was happening.
My kid tells me that the lunch lady does not allow her to pick more food/snack even though she has money on her account. I never check her cash balance, and I assume that only 1 lunch price is charged per day at max.
np here. Why does this happen? Because it seems to be pretty common, here in FCPS too |
FCPS made the PIN codes public so anyone can use anyone else's account. |
My son admitted that he was getting a second item some days (like a 2nd slice of pizza) and it's charged at a higher entree rate of $3.
