If you haven't seen it yet, you really should check out the Lilith Fair documentary on Hulu. I didn't even go to Lilith Fair, but as a huge fan of many of the artists who were part of it, I loved the documentary. It made me feel hopeful, which is quite a feat these days.
My favorite parts: getting a better understanding of the uphill battle these women were fighting. Seeing the interviews with everyone from Olivia Rodrigo to Brandi Carlile and of course all the women who made the event happen. Getting a feel for the magic of the festival. |
| I loved it. I went in 97 and 98 at Merriwether and it was such a beautiful experience. Would love to see them revive it. |
| On my list to watch. Lilith Fair was my first big concert as a preteen in 97. |
| I loved seeing the crowds 100% engaged in what was happening on stage. No phones. No distractions. I miss that. |
| I went in 1998 at Merriweather. It was amazing! I may have to get Hulu just to watch this! |
| I don't have Hulu but was so excited to go to Lilith Fair in NY. What a great concert. |
| Don’t young women attend and complete university studies at a far higher rate than boys in 2025? |
What does that have to do with the documentary? |
I loved it too and I agree that was so interesting to learn about the uphill battle that these women faced in organizing the tour. I loved the clip of the young Brandi Carlile. I saw the '98 show at the Rose Bowl, and it was epic - Sheryl Crow, Natalie Merchant, Emmylou Harris, Sinead, Indigo Girls, Shawn Colvin. I was in my 90's glory! |
Wow! That sounds like an amazing lineup. Every single one of them are great singers I love. Wish I could have seen Sinead when she was alive. |

I was listening to all these wonderful women in the ‘90s and initially feeling all nostalgic about the decade until they showed all those sexist clips.
My DD was born in 1997 or maybe I would have gone to one. |

| I was underwhelmed compared to other music-related documentaries. I feel like there should have been more music and less repetitive blabbering. |
| ^^^it was basically multiple female artists being interviewed and saying the same thing |
That sucks. Sounds like it's the producers' fault for not asking varied enough questions. |
