SO, my old employer is hiring to fill the position I left 4 years ago. Since then, I’ve been promoted twice at my current employer and have been successfully leading my team through an extremely challenging project. I interviewed with the hiring manager who remembers me.
I’m torn. My current situation has a lot of uncertainty in terms of what my job will actually look like in the next 6 months. I don’t have job insecurity. However, my former company has undergone a major transformation with entirely new leadership. In terms of stability and work / life balance, the choice is clear, take the old role at much higher pay. But I truly like my current employer because of the opportunities I was exposed to and how I was treated during my 4 years. How do I take the emotions out of this to make a decision ? |
| Could you really use the higher salary? If so, then accept the new (old) job and give notice. If your current job wants to keep you, they'll meet the salary level |
