Why not?

I have former big law and government experience. I would be applying based on my whole resume and I've learned a ton about the industry by actually being in it.

I think I could find another good in house gig. If not, maybe a trade org.

Anyone looked at the in-house job postings recently? Availability seems slim and comp seems capped

I think many lawyers couldn't live on 200K a year.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot as I desperately want to take a sabbatical right now. I would be prepared to take a significant paycut when returning to market if I stay in-house, but I’m also contemplating going back to a firm or starting over in a new practice area like family law or trusts and estates. I’m kind of burned out on corporate law, but need to keep working till the kids are done with college.
