Youth World Cup?

What the hay is this youth world cup thing happening in Richmond this weekend for a play in to Miami? Just $$$? It is a bunch of no name clubs and collapsed age groups.

Interesting. I cannot find the brackets online for this weekend. Do you have a link?

Here's the site for the event:

Can't find brackets either - the gotsport site points you back to the site above. No schedule on gotsport.

Hmm....

I mean… it’s a “World Cup” with only teams from VA and Florida and only 4 VA teams at that?

World cup needs to tm their name like olympics

In the U16 age bracket, I see that all teams have three games in two days. Some are almost back to back. How long are the matches? At that age, even 40 minute halves would be too much for two games in a day.

So how was this tournament? was it good or a joke?

Sounds like Copa talento. Fun event for those who love soccer and likely know already that its not really a world cup

Check out Gothia Cup...that's a will known youth world cup event. That's real competition for youth.

Copa Talento is supposedly a partner of this youth world cup. I was just asking if the tournament was any good or all hype

Considering this is a brand new tournament in it's first year, and is open to any team that wants to join, I would expect it to be soccer tourism like just about every other tournament. That doesn't mean it won't be fun or worth the cost.
