They are just delaying the official SY announcemnt so that everyone starts at the same time and we dont have clubs in overlaping MLSN and ECNL markets jumping the gun. |
Recruitment Manager of a local P2P MLSN1 club just told me:
- MLSN2 will be BY 25/26 and will switch to SY 26/27. - MLSN1 will be BY 25/26 and undecided yet for 26/27 (Academies have strong opposition to switch SY, however P2P clubs push for the switch, otherwise they cannot organize themselves) |

BY crowd demands MLSN1 to stay in BY for their Q1/Q2 kids! |
Where? What club? |
This seems like most logical take right now. For the large P2P MLSN clubs, staying BY for just MLSN1 will be a major PITA. Most of them can barely keep it together without this extra headache of trying to manage two different systems. |
Very old club, Wisconsin area, MLSN 1 Mid America Division, MLSN2 North Division. |
MLSN2 added two more clubs in the PNW.

You’re an idiot. “Nothing is changing” is not a big announcement. Why does it matter if MLSN stays BY? Who cares? |
Orrrr…occams razor and all…there is not change and thus nothing to announce? 🤣 |
5 years. ECNL will have to pivot to a non college pathway after that. As a SY supporter, but clear eyed about the collegiate landscape, this whole endeavor was dumb with a capital D |
MLSN2 will be BY. There is an article out there that said that, and that one of the primary reasons for MLS to do N2 was so that their feeder leagues WOULD be BY. |
Not true. But go on… |
The made up club in PPs head, where PP keeps posting the same junk, and is now telling stories because they’ve run out of their “acadmies vs p2p” arguments. |
Not. BY parent and not a Q1/2 parent. Genuinely curious about why so many people are demanding that MLSN switch to SY despite the evidence that MLSN doesn’t intend to change. What is the reason why you want it to be SY? |
