Why you can’t stay home one weekend or just sit in silence?
We have a couple friends like, this that are over 75. It’s like they are chasing life and need constant validation. “I’m doing those and that; traveling here and there.” We do the same but in moderation and don’t brag. It’s like adult teen age girl syndrome. Tiring. |
I think you need to get out more. |
I'm only missing out and sitting at home because i can't afford the outings the group would like to go on- so I get excluded from the group. Another perspective... |
You sound bitter and jealous, OP. Not a great look. Sucks to be you. |
Huh? I am always doing things on the weekends. I work during the week and have no kids. #YOLO |
Why do you care? |
Maybe because they will likely be dead in the next ten years? Eventually they will be missing out. Let them chase life. FFS |
You are literally asking old people to sit at home and rot? Leave them be. Life is too short for moderation and sitting at home watching Fox News. |
Why do you care what they do? Clearly, they like and want to do it. What is it to you? |
Then you should’ve done better in school and at university and made something of yourself. You’re the one who failed to achieve. That’s no one’s fault but yours. |
I think the people who are constantly out and about have some level of hyperactive ADHD.
I don't think it's only FOMO. You need the energy to back it up, otherwise you can't go out and do things. We're a family of inattentive ADHD introverts who stay happily home and potter around doing useless things. We're happy. |
If you are so intelligent and educated then why would you post something so obviously ignorant? |

This would be my in -laws, although they aren't bragging. They just talk about their life. When DH was growing up his dad worked 3 jobs and his mom worked as well. They were real middle class (not dcum middle class). Their one vacation a year was a camping trip. But they invested wisely and saved where they could, and now get to enjoy their lives. I think it's wonderful that they get to travel the world now. My MIL nearly died 5 years ago (we were all called to the hospital to say goodbye) so DH is pretty happy to see his parents enjoying life so much after all they've been through and sacrificed. |
I think some people are just more extraverted and like being out all the time. I am in my 40s and have friends like this. I have no idea how they do it, especially on weeknights. I am 100% content being home and in bed by 9. But hey, to each their own. |
