How's your experiences? My boy is not athletic. Is it hard to do the rope courses? Is it fun? I am worried the most is the clipping harness part, can kids do it by themselves? What kind of gloves should he get? He has no problem with heights He has done zipling before elsewhere. He does rock climbing, but the issues are balancing and core strength. |
It is a great time. I went with my 8yo DS. He had no problems with the clips. The courses are clearly marked by difficulty level, so you can start with easier courses and see how it goes. You can buy gloves there. You could probably also use something like garden gloves with leather palms. |
How old is your son and is he small for his age? Sometimes the smaller kids don't have enough body weight to carry their momentum to the next location, so someone has to help them move along. That is fine. But it's more fun if he's over 60 pounds or so.
They have gloves there. The clips should be fine unless his hand strength really isn't good. |
How old is your kid and how tall is your kid? I have been a couple of time with kids ranging from just turned 8 to 12 years old. The 8 and 9 year olds are both average height and occasionally had issues with reaching the clips on certain zip lines. Basically it was smoother when they had a grown up climbing right behind them. At about age 10, there were fewer issues with reaching the zip lines. The 12 year olds just took off on their own.
For me, I would bring an 8 or 9 year old with a group. But, if I were planning an outing or party, I’d wait until the kid is 10+. We didn’t use gloves and it was fine. |
I don’t consider my son very athletic and he loved that place. I think your som will enjoy op. |
My son is athletic but small for his age. We have a great time when we go. He sometimes has trouble with attaching the zip line carriage to the cable because of his size. The clips become second nature very quickly. There are different levels of difficulty. He should be able to do it. It is really fun for kids and when they do it on their own it gives them a big sense of accomplishment. |
+1 I took my DD for the past three summers and my DS6 this past summer and they loved it. As PPs have mentioned if your kid is too short it can be hard reaching the clips. A few times I had to lift my son while he simultaneously opened the clip. But otherwise he did great and loved it. |
You can purchase gloves at the check-in desk. We went last week with DD6 and she had a great time, but not all sections are available for the younger kids. |
