Any suggestions? 6 year old has long and thin legs and flat butt. It has to be elastic at waistline due to she is super skinny, off bmi. She has sensitive skin, so a bit baggy pants works better. She does not wear jeans. |
Target brand has a Slim line for leggings. The cozy ones are fleece lined so awesome in the winter. Not a drawstring, but they do have a lot with drawstrings too. Annoying, but "boy pants" are often drawstrings.

Carter's cozy leggings. My child is a similar build. Though they say leggings, I find them to be looser in the leg than traditional leggings. Elastic waistband. Lined in fleece. |

Primary is slim fit. Tea Collection also has good choices. |
Primary cozy lined sweets and leggings are great. Tea collection has these baddy side pocket utility pants we love too. I get those used.
Also will she wear a warm dress and thick cable tights? We did that for a bit with my kids. Again primary sells cozy sweatshirt fabric long sleeve dresses. |
Yes fleece-lined leggings are key. Everyone carries these now -- we've gotten them at Target, H&M, Zara, Primary, etc. My kid doesn't like wearing joggers/sweats to school.
My kid also really likes wearing dresses and we like that the fleece-lined leggings can double as a warmer alternative to tights. However we also have some warm, fleece-lined tights! I can't remember where we got these, probably Amazon. These are great because they are super stretchy so we are now on year 3 with the same pairs and they still fit comfortable even though DD has grown like 5 inches in that time. |
Anything from Old Navy long enough to fit OP's child is going to be too big in the waist (this is the scenario we're in and my kid is not 'off BMI'). I find H&M and Zara work well for slim kids, they have joggers and leggings as well as dressier wide-leg pants. |
I posted that and have an skinny kid, like 25th percentile for height and 2nd-5th for weight. She might wear a size smaller than expected or roll down the waistband, but I named the pants she wore regularly last winter. |
I found my kids tie waist, soft, wide leg jeans at Gap Factory this fall. My kids are skinny. |
